I grew up visiting homes that were for on the market with my mom #realtorlife. I fell in love with studying the different layouts and finishes of each home. Any chance I got I would pull out my art supplies and draw up a new floor plan full of all sorts of creative nooks and secret rooms that seemed like a dream to be able to play in. Ahhh, those were the days my friends.
This passion followed me through the years, getting my Master of Architecture, landing an amazing job at an Architecture firm right after college. Where I got the chance to learn from amazing people who taught me everything from the fundamentals of good design to the importance of building client relationships. Through the 7 years working there I began taking on various roles in the firm such as being on the vital workplace committee, planning company events and this truly ignited my passion for the event world.
After awhile I realized I could imagine my life solely planning and designing events, so I began working on the side to build my business. I feel lucky to still have that passion for bringing spaces to life that I have had since I was a kid. However, now I do that by bringing peoples visions of their wedding day to life. And there is truly nothing more magical than doing what I love most in life every single day.

I have been married since 2016 to to my wonderful husband Cody
I’m a dog mom to our sweet Cavapoo Millie
I love music, anything with a good beat. You will often find me signing and dancing in my car on my way to events. One of my favorite before wedding day songs I like to play to hype me up is Chemical by Post Malone.
I live in the beautiful state of Washington in a TINY HOME. Yes, as in a 8 1/2’ x 34’ TINY HOME that I got to design

I love seeing the joy on the couples faces as they reunite with family and friends they haven't seen in a while.
I also love seeing packed dance floor with people enjoying their time together. You can tell the couple never wants their day to end.

What is my favorite part of the wedding day to witness?
Watching the couples exchange their vows and walk back down the aisle once they’re married. It’s such a special, one-in-a-lifetime moment that I always feel honored to witness!

What am I most looking forward to this year in my role?
Looking forward to being such an integral part of someone’s special day! Being apart of the wedding industry is already so fun because we all get to see different creative backgrounds come together and I love seeing the bride and groom’s vision come to life! As a newlywed myself, that excitement and energy is an absolute joy to witness and I am so happy to be a part of it with them!
What is my go-to song to get the dance party started?
Levitating by Dua Lipa! It is so upbeat and fun and gets everyone out on the dance floor!
What is my favorite part of the wedding day to witness?
Watching the first dances and everyone dancing around the bride and groom at the end of the evening, having a good time is my favorite. There is not many times in life where all your favorite people surround you like that, and it is such a surreal feeling!

What am I most looking forward to this year in my role?
This will be my third wedding season by Designs by Ashlie Smith. What I am most excited for in my role this year is really appreciating the small details and fixing any wrinkles that comes throughout the day. As a 2023 bride I know the stress it was leading up to the big day and all the planning that goes into it. And to see everything go just the way it was supposed to because of my wedding team, makes me appreciate the work they do behind the scenes. I’m excited to be that role in the day and give that experience to all of Ashlie’s clients to come!
What is my go-to song to get the dance party started?
Uptown Funk , its my personal favorite song and I feel like is forgotten how good it is so whenever I hear the DJ play that one its fun to see how many people get up and dance to it. It’s not the first wedding dance song you think of but one that always gets people on the dance floor.
What is my favorite part of the wedding day to witness?
This changes all the time but my current favorite is the mother son dance. Now that I have a little baby boy of my own seeing that dance has way more meaning and you may see me shed a few tears during that part if you find me in the crowd ;)

This will be my first year as an event coordinator, and I am so excited to learn the ins and outs of event coordination! From meeting clients, to setting up decor, down to creating magical once in a life-time memories.

You got to hit the crowd with the Wobble by V.I.C to get them loose and ready to dance the night away!
What is my favorite part of the wedding day to witness?
My favorite moment during any wedding, has to be when the bride walks down the aisle heading towards her man. It almost feels like time stops and a magical moment happens between the couple that everyone bears witness to.
